In the first week after the birth we visit 2 or 3 times to check whether you are recovering well from the birth and whether everything is going well with your baby. We also discuss how you experienced the birth.
Collaboration with the maternity nurse
In the first week after the birth, we visit you every other day (more often if necessary) to check whether you are recovering well from the delivery and whether everything is going well with your child. The maternity nurse is there for the daily care and check-ups and we are medically responsible. The maternity nurse will therefore always notify us of any special findings. In addition, we are of course also available 24 hours a day during the maternity period.
Check-up after 6 weeks
After about a week after the birth, we close the care and transfer it to your GP and the health clinic. You can certainly still call us in the first 6 weeks after your delivery if you have any questions. You will have another follow-up check-up around 6 weeks after your delivery. This is possible with us, even if the hospital eventually took over the care surrounding the delivery from us. We ask how you are doing and if you have recovered well. If you wish, we can measure your blood pressure, check whether your stitches have healed properly and whether your abdominal muscles are touching each other again. You can schedule the appointment yourself via the assistant during the telephone consultation hour.
